Why should we retain Stuart for our wedding photographs?
If you have cute little flower girls or page boy ring bearers, who make for fantastic photo ops, then you should definitely retain Stuart for your wedding day! Kidding aside, Stuart enjoys working with couples who truly value the art of photography and appreciate the care and work required to capture incredible images.
How do we retain Stuart?
Fill out the contact form. Stuart will contact you to answer any questions you may have and forward you a contract. When you return the contract with a £250 Booking Fee, Stuart would have reserved the date exclusively for you. Approximately two weeks before the wedding, you will meet up and discuss all the special requirements for your day and then at that point pay the balance of the coverage. .
If we don’t meet, how do we know we’ll get along with him?
Stuart is very easy going and a joy to work with. Many of his clients have become friends. You should read the Raves section to see what his clients have to say unsolicited. Besides that, nothing will give you that peace of mind like sending in the Contact Form and getting that phone call from him. He is “youngish”, dedicated, happy person who greatly enjoys his work. He has worked for many years with children and has the patience of a saint when it comes to attracting their attention and detail. After 10 minutes, you will not be thinking about any of those things, you will be laughing and planning your wedding day.
Are there any hidden costs?
No ! Stuart feels integrity is part of his particular value. If there is travel, shipping, or if there are hours beyond the first dance, those are only additional expenses.
What is Stuart’s philosophy on shooting weddings?
Stuart’s philosophy is top earn the trust of the bride and groom so they are confident in his skills and ability. As the big day draws near, and the final details are done, the couple knows that their photographs are in good hands. Stuart wants his bride and groom to ‘live’ their day and be fully present in the moment.
Stuart captures the people, places, and other things which are part of their great day. Finally, Stuart then delivers world class images that were born of trust between him and you.
What happens on our wedding day?
Stuart will capture all aspects of your day from the Bridal home through to your first dance without limitations on the number of images he will take. If it’s there to be taken….it will be! However, unlike others, we do not need to take over 3000 images for you to choose 36 good ones if you’re lucky…..we consider our photography to be far better than that.
We will cover your wedding extensively but thoroughly giving you every possible option available. Formal, informal, fly on the wall stuff and the word what everyone uses but really, most have no idea…Reportage! However, we do recommend that if you see anything in a magazine or brochure and you would like it copying, we will attempt something very similar (we are not in the industry of copying exactly other peoples work…….. we are far more imaginative than that!)
… and while on your honeymoon?
While on your honeymoon, don’t worry about the photos….that’s our job! Your images will be carefully edited to provide you with the finest in wedding photography probably in this area. Depending on your chosen coverage, the Albums and/or CD’s should be available to view after your honeymoon. If however you are totally bored with one another’s company throughout your vacation, head off to the shops and find an internet café. That way, you should be able to go online and view your images shortly after your wedding. If need be, we can give a password to your family and friends and they can view your exciting day. Ordering off the internet is also very simple so that saves time visiting Aunt Doris and Uncle Jack who you didn’t really want to come to the wedding in the first place but that’s families for you.
What is Stuart’s style?
Wedding photographers take remarkably different approaches to their craft. Stuart adapts his style to each wedding and couple. He can not only hold his own on a traditional style but also has a very keen eye on the informal reportage approach. “There is no formula “, Stuart said recently in an interview with a leading Bridal magazine, “Because each couple is uniquely different and has different personality’s, I approach each wedding distinctly. In addition to capturing candid and spontaneous images, my images reflect the personality of the couple and the emotions of the day.
Does Stuart work with an assistant?
Yes, Stuart does have an assistant on the day to help with films, cameras etc. However, Stuart is the person you will speak with, the person who will perform your individual photography service for you.
Can our family and friends take pictures?
Absolutely! Why not?
Will Stuart capture a mixture of formal family groups and modern reportage if we request it?
Absolutely! Because every wedding album is different, it is individually up to each couple on how the approach to the wedding photography will be. Some of your family members may have travelled from overseas for your big day; others may not be seen soon again. You do not want to miss this unique record with your friends. However, the process can become tedious and take the bride and groom away from enjoying their day.
Here’s some great advice!
• Create a list of photos you want
• Estimate 3 minutes per group photo
• Give the list to a friend, usher or groomsman to manage on the day
• The larger the group picture, the better. Then you will need fewer.
Does Stuart use flash?
Stuart uses flash and auxiliary lighting not to ‘get enough light’, but to paint like with a paint brush, to reflect the mood, or to enhance the moment. In sum, he uses it only when the moment calls for.
What can we do to get the best possible images on our wedding day?
The day will fly by and will probably be the quickest day of your life – just enjoy it and, in Stuart’s hands, your images will reflect your emotions.
